COASTAL ORANGE COUNTY Real Estate &
Local Guide
Living in Laguna Beach means having the coast, the village and the hills all within reach. Mornings can start with a walk along the beach or coffee downtown, afternoons wandering local shops and galleries, and evenings watching the sunset from one of the many coves—it’s a community where art, nature and coastal living are woven into everyday life.
And while Laguna Beach is known around the world for its coastline, it’s the distinct neighborhoods, locally owned businesses, schools and creative community that give it its character. From walkable village living to homes tucked into the hills or overlooking the ocean, each pocket offers a different way to experience Laguna Beach.
Find Your Neighborhood.
There’s no single version of Coastal Orange County living. Huntington Beach brings a classic beach-town lifestyle, Dana Point revolves around its harbor and coastline, and San Clemente has its own laid-back character and strong sense of community.
Head inland and communities like Irvine and Laguna Niguel offer parks, trails, established neighborhoods and a more planned suburban lifestyle, while Corona del Mar and Newport Coast put you closer to the coast with their own distinctly Newport feel.
Sometimes the right neighborhood is the one you expected. Sometimes it’s a community you hadn’t even considered until you spend a little time there.
Deborah’s local knowledge can help you understand those little differences that you won’t always find in a listing.
Deborah’s Favorite Places.
A perfect Coastal OC day can look completely different depending on which direction you head. Walk the pier and grab breakfast in Huntington Beach, spend an afternoon around Dana Point Harbor, wander the shops and restaurants along Del Mar in San Clemente, or head inland for shopping and dinner around Irvine.
That variety is part of the fun—you don't have to live in one community to make all of Coastal Orange County feel like your backyard.
Get Outside.
This is Southern California, so getting outside is practically built into the lifestyle. Surf or bike along the coast in Huntington Beach, walk the trails above the ocean in Dana Point, head to the beach in San Clemente, or explore the parks and extensive trail systems around Irvine and Laguna Niguel.
And with the beach, harbor, hills, and open space all relatively close together, a morning hike can very easily turn into an afternoon at the beach.
Deborah’s Local Tip: Don’t choose the city first. Choose the lifestyle you want—then find the neighborhood that gives it to you.
